What We Love About DSAG

What I love about DSAG is it is not just a nonprofit supporting the Down syndrome community. It IS the community. It is all the awesome families in the Baton Rouge area coming together to help each other to make a positive difference in the quality of life for people with Down syndrome. DSAG is what brings us all together and gives us the opportunity to make sure no one has to do it alone.

DSAG of Baton Rouge has been such a great organization to be a part of. Getting advice on local resources, therapists, schools, and programs is invaluable, and I’m so thankful for the friendships we have made along the way. I love that our area is embracing and celebrating individuals with Down syndrome!

We have looked forward to the Buddy Walk every year since Dylan was 1. He is now turning 12. It’s an amazing event to support our friends with Down syndrome and their families.

Attending DSAG events has been a yearly tradition for our family, especially the Buddy Walk. In past years we’ve enjoyed meeting new families in our area. The events were complete with food, face painting and games that all could enjoy. We’ve even enjoyed releasing butterflies.

We look forward to the Buddy Walk every year. The support that comes from this event is so appreciated. We get to meet new friends with Down syndrome and their families. It’s also a time we can honor our sweet MaddieJo!
